For years, a cruel and selfish King has been ruling over a kingdom, forcing the citizens of his city to build large monuments in his honor, with the constant threat of starvation should anyone refuse to work. Anyone who tried to rebel against him usually ended up killed by his skilled archers and warriors.
Seeing no future in this Kingdom, our group, along with many others, tried to escape one night. Unfortunately, a guard noticed us and sounded the alarm. Out of a huge group of us, many died, and we (the players) were the only ones who managed to successfully escape. We travelled for weeks, putting as much distance between us and our old life. And when we began to run out of supplies, we decided this would be a perfect place to begin a new city, that we could all rule together.
But, just as we began building houses, a fight began between some of the members, over such a trivial thing as a pork chop. The fight quickly expanded, and began to tear the group apart in two. The two groups began to move away from each other to build their own city...
You will play as one of the members in one of those two groups. You will expand your city and make it thrive, while making sure the other group fails at doing the same.
Both teams will begin with one map, and proceed to one of the four corners and build anywhere in that area (might be best to choose the two farthest corners, but then again, it's also fun to find the other's city by exploring). You can only build your city
using the steps found under the "Classic mode" spoiler of this page. As soon as you're done with one step, you and the others can move onto the next!
We can make it a time trial (whoever is the most advanced after a certain amount of time), a race (whoever completes all of the city stages first wins) or an endless battle between the two cities.
Here's some additional rules:
-You can make your city anywhere, as long as it follows the steps. In a nice open valley? Sure. On top of trees? Alright. On or under the sea? Ok! In the sky? No problem. In the nether? Sure, we can give you the necessary things to build a portal, but only if you leave an active nether portal somewhere in the overworld (and not in a hard to find, almost impossible place, either. Out in the open. Keep it a bit fair). Keep in mind, however: the terrain might give better protection, but it can also be slower to build, meaning the enemy might be more technologically advanced than you.
-Building traps are allowed and even recommended. Just don't break any of the steps.
-Griefing and sabotaging the other team is allowed, but don't go overboard. Sure, you can raid and steal the content of one of their chests, but don't steal from every chest. You can steal or break their crops, but don't go steal all of their food. You can burn down a few of their trees and maybe a
SMALL wooden building, but don't burn down the entire city. Go ahead and attract mobs to the other's city, just don't guide along a bunch of creepers to blow shit up. And if you have to use TNT, only use one. Finally, keep those sabotages at a minimum. Keep a delay of at least an hour or two between griefs.
-Attacking your own city is strictly forbidden. No team killing, and no traitors. Anyone who does so will not be playing anymore.
-Don't sabotage or build up your city when there's no one on the other team. Keep it fair
-One team can attack the other. Attacking involves entering the other city (by force, most of the time) and killing the other members. You can not grief or sabotage while you attack. If you get killed while attacking or defending, you can not join the battle again, and must wait until it's over. You can take anything the slain victim drops, it's all yours. Again, keep it fair: having 4 people attack a city defended by only one guy isn't fair.
-No spawnkilling or camping outside of the other's city
-(Optional) Caverns and mines are quite dangerous! Things can constantly fall on your head. As such, you must wear a helmet of any kind while you explore underground. If you lose your helmet and have no spares, you must immediately exit the cavern or mine, without putting down any new torches or mining any more ore.
-(Optional) To avoid mine collapses, when mining, your tunnel must be 3 cubes up and 3 cubes across, with wooden foundations at every 5-6 cubes long. Think of the mine shafts the world sometimes generates by itself. It's gotta be like that.
-Please don't cheat. It ruins the fun.
