Just in case anyone is wondering, I am still going to prom, but just with no gf. Because I have no gf. Because I did not ask potential gf to prom.

I've been to many proms, all with dates, and I can tell you it's pretty overrated IMO. I once went with this girl I was kinda friends with that I really liked though, and we slow danced all evening. Even had out pictures put in the yearbook from it. That was nice.

One time it stormed and everyone got freaked because Prom was outside, so when everyone crowded themselves inside the school my friends and I trashed the courtyard and played in the rain.

What I'm saying is Prom is best when celebrated with friends, not with a girl or guy you probably aren't going to see or have any strong connections with after high school is over.

The number one reason why I went to my graduation prom was because my parents would've never forgave me if I didn't.

Not to say I didn't have a bit of fun. It wasn't absolutely the best moment of my life, like movies seem to make it out to be

I had nobody to go with, nobody to go for, no reason to spend money on a ticket and a tux rental...I like to party, but some parties just aren't worth it. []

I spent the whole night getting drunk in the corner because I'd taken someone who didn't want to go with me, she just had friends who were going or some shit.

(Remember that the drinking age here is lower before yelling about underage drinking)

Sometimes.
I don't think people get how people socialise in Ireland.
Step 1: go to pub
Step 2: Drink
Step 3: Try to socialise
Step 4: Drink until you feel confident enough to socialise successfully
Step 5: Go home because the pub is closing and you'll never be that confident anyway
Step 6: (Get a phone call from that chick/guy)(Call that chick/guy) who you exchanged numbers with at some point
Step 7: Repeat ad infitum

I think I have some sort of prom/ball thing this term? Maybe? I don't know if I'll go. I didn't go to anything at secondary school or university yet.

i like parties but only with people i like.
our saturday night game nights are kinda like a party in that its a bunch of friends who get together and no matter how stupid you act its all good.
but if i was to go to a place with people i don't know then i wouldn't have as much fun.

I can't stand parties when there's not a lot of people though because I can't blend into the crowd and I always feel like somebodies watching me, can't get no privacy, oh no.

I love to dance, so prom and things like it are immensely fun for me. I always wind up with a certain amount of people studying my dancing style, but that makes it more fun for me because I guess I'm an attention whore? Iunno. It makes it more fun, gives you like an adrenaline rush.

I only dance at weddings. I mosh everywhere else.

Thankfully, since Prom will be primarily Juniors and Seniors, it won't be as packed with people I don't know, and I'll be hanging out with the girl I should have asked this Saturday anyway.

Everything is not going as well as it could have been, but the feel I was feeling is no longer the feel that I feel.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who just starts babbling incoherently and making vague arm movements when things get awkward.

When things get awkward I pretend like they're not and then the other person starts pretending too and then suddenly it's not awkward.

Like that time that chick caught me watching her undress from outside her window. That sure was one hell of a granny.

When things get awkward within my group of friends, it's usually because someone fucked up and nobody wants to point it out to them. I'm usually the one to call out the pachyderm in the room so people can get over whatever is making things weird and get on with what we were doing.

It's what made IRL DND so stressful for me before I took a hiatus from it.
