VGTTBM: I've been playing online in L4d, and there are a bunch of jerks on there. Good God. Random vote banning, cusing out people for no reason, it's rediculus.

I am periodically one of those people who randomly votekicks, swears, abuses, intentionally uses the wrong game modes, ruins waiting rooms, pretends to be from clans, causes clan wars, ruins team tactics, drains team resources, and rants in multiplayer games; AMA

On the subject of vulgarity, House of the Dead: Overkill is utterly filthy. It's a really good game though, in my humble opinion.

I bet your popular.
Also, Jonny, aren't you a King of the Cosmos? Why is your opinion humble?

Just bought a few spooky games for halloween, like an indie game named LIMBO and, of course, Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

I don't want to play them yet, for two reasons:

1. I want to see if I can somehow record myself playing/my reactions and upload them here.

2. It's nearing 1 AM here and it's dark and spooky

amnesia is truly unsettling, i was testing the game to make sure it would work on my laptop and i was in a well lit room with my freinds near by. and i was still jumpy.
you can use fraps to record it, you'll have to buy it though unfortunately

I think there's a free version of FRAPS, it just has a watermark. Hypercam has a free version too.

RVGT: Fighting Big Daddies using just a wrench because you're out of ammo in Bioshock is pretty fun.

So is dying a whole lot of times

That's the problem with the Vita-Chamber. Sure, it's a fascinating idea but it robs you of any risk and lets you just pick away at an enemy.

That said, do you have the gene tonic that lets you freeze enemies with the wrench? Because science.

In other news, I'm really going to try and make a level in LittleBigPlanet 2. Since straight platforming in the games is something of an acquired taste (I don't mind it) and it's a bit of an oversaturated genre in the game, I'm going for a series of puzzle games, tentatively titled The Temples Trilogy.

It's really remarkable just how flexible the game is in terms of creations you can come up with. Want to make a rotating maze controlled by the Sixaxis? Sure! Want to make a giant jigsaw-puzzle inspired puzzle? You've got it! You get the idea. After that I'm going to try and make a sort of Incredible Machine-inspired thing. I know how to levitate objects now, you see.

Muahahaha!

Actually what you do is attach an anti-gravity tweaker, then an advanced mover, which you wire to the left analogue stick. I can even make it spin. The point is, it's easy to do once you get to grips with the tools and have an idea to link them together.

I suspect it's the nature of the beast but one gripe I have is that while you're told how to use all the tools you're not really given an indication of how they can fit together, or how to carry off some of the more basic creations like vehicles. It'd also be nice to be able to take apart the pre-made levels and see what makes them tick.

Yeah, I think it's a great game. I recommend playing through the original as well: the story levels are pretty good and you can import all the collectables from the first game into the second.

I've played the first one before, and, I don't really like platforming, but I remember enjoying the game.

Maybe because I was playing co-op with a friend...

EA has created the worst piece of software I've ever used. The whole thing is crammed with bad decisions. Using it is like running up a set of stairs while stubbing your toe on every single step.

To install Battlefield 3, I had to first install Origin (EA's Steam clone) and register an account for it. I soon found out that my old EA account had been transferred to an Origin one because my email address was already in use, apparently. So I try to log in and fail. I guess I used some obscure password in the past and request a password reset, only to be told that the email address it had just found to be an existing account was not a valid address after all. I eventually managed to do it online rather than in the Origin client and got an email with a link. It said to insert this link when prompted in the Origin client. Obviously this failed when I tried it. I used the link in my browser and all was well. Until I tried to run the game.

To play the game, it first needs to launch Origin, then it has to launch the browser so I can install yet more software I don't want to enable me to run the game by clicking a button on the website they've just sent me to against my will.

Now I can understand them putting some sort of 'always-online' DRM on the game, and maybe there are people who buy lots of EA games and like them to all be in one place with Origin and I could tolerate it's existence on my harddrive because of this, but having to launch a website to launch the game is just complete bullshit. There is no justification for a decision like that. Everything that site holds could easily be integrated into Origin and/or the game itself. They've somehow managed to mess up the most base task their game has to perform. Starting.
