You know what might make good films? The Chrestomanci books. When they all arrive off the Internet I will have all of them.

If I was a movie director, you'd know what I'd do?

I'd make movies based off of books (Harry Potter, Narnia, ect) without cutting A SINGLE THING. Don't give me bullshit like "it would be too long" or "it would cost too much", because the 3 Lord of the Ring movies were all 3 hours long.

Someguy: go read the LotR books.
Then go watch the movies.

They cut a fuck-ton of things.

I'm sick of waiting for hollywood to do more movies on good books, like LOTR. When will Discworld movies get massive budgets? Where is the Song of Ice and Fire tv series? When will the Riftwar series be filmed? Why does hollywood mess everything up for everyone in the end every time they get a good idea?

Oh, all sorts of reasons. Personally, I think most books would be better as TV series since you can really expand on the entire book rather than trying to cram it all into a couple of hours or whatever.

True, but at least it's 3 hours, not an hour of confusion

Just saw Inception..it was really good, I cried and then screamed at the ending. Everyone should see it, even if the beginning was dragged out.

It was dragged out for good reason, i don't see any bad bits in the film that lag or have no purpose, and I'm a huuuuuge film critic due to the fact i study films and media for a living. It is just genuinely a very good film, as have all of Nolans latest films been. Go watch it. NOW!

I think that was one of the insidious purposes behind this movie: just like

The same theme in The Matrix, and similarly The Science of Sleep.

It's an interesting idea, ust don't think about it too much or your brain will melt!

Of course, now I see it dragged out for good reason, but at the time it was to confusing for me to understand why they were taking so long focusing on one concept which at the time made no sense. The movie is very good, and there was actually no part or character I didn't like.

The whole token/totem part of the movie was an amazing idea - I guess during the midnight showing, everyone who saw the movie got a replica of the spinning top.

I watched the Watchmen for the first time last night. The movie was a lot more fluid, as it had music and cool transition shots, but was also rather awkward 'cause of the somewhat explicit Laurie/Dan sexing, as I watched it with my oldest bro and his girlfriend.
I really did like the book better- it was a really freaking awesome movie but I couldn't help but compare it to how freaking awesome the graphic novel was. Also, Adrian Veidt looked like David Bowie.

The film was a let-down for me. There is simply too much stuff in the book to cram into a film.

I'm looking forward to seeing The Expendables. A manly film for men about men doing manly things in a manly way. Also, explosions!

that and Machete, i wanted to see that one since i saw the trailer. (the first one, when it wasn't going to be a real movie yet)

I wish that they made the Halo movie.
Expand more of the storyline about the Chief as a character, y'know?
As opposed to faceless shooting man what is controlled by you.
