I've always liked how his main weapon is a shield. It's symbolic in more ways than one.

To be fair, not all of Cap's special hand-picked team were Americans...there was that British dude, and the Italian dude...the guy from Fresno doesn't count...but yeah. Go America! []

I wanna see Super 8!

I don't care about Super 8, mostly since the trailers I've seen reveal nothing whatsoever about the movie. At all. And I'm too lazy to google it.

If I didn't know better I would have thought it was a parody on trailers in general.

Yeah, Super 8 is trying to do what Cloverfield did, but I guess it's kinda like ET?

It's actually really good from what I've heard. Speilberg and J. J. Abrams made it, so it can't possibly be bad.

People who are good at things can still make horribly bad things.
Never forget this.

You can say that for instance Spielberg is a good director because he's made good movies, but it just doesn't work the other way around. The fact that I know more about who directed the movie that about the movie itself is just a giant warning sign saying "THIS WILL INEVITABLY SUCK A MULTITUDE OF BALLS".

I saw Super 8 yesterday, and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm not saying it is a perfect or amazing film. It never tried to hype up over anything like Cloverfield did, it just promised to be a good, entertaining and watchable film. Nevertheless it sought for more family based audience at a UK 12 rating.

The main grip of the film is the fact it uses a lot of unheard of actors as the main characters are young(ish) children. It was enjoyable, and worth the pennies I paid for it. Go see it, it won't disappoint :).

Yeah, sometimes using actors who aren't very well known really does help a film. The kids in To Kill a Mockingbird were just random children who lived in the area the filming took place.

I watched Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole again this past weekend...still epic. []

I've seen that movie in the theaters.

The room had a whole bunch of kids before it started.

When it ended, half the people in the room were gone because their kids were too scared.

If you notice some posts deleted, someone went through and marked down random replies. I shouldn't have to say this, but someone needs reminded - if someone holds a different opinion other than your own, there is no need to rage karma.

The being said, lets try this again.

Lion King is coming out on 3D (Cautious Optimism on that one) and more information was released regarding True Steel, the movie about Rock Em Sock Em Robots. (Well, not really, but the plot can be summed up as such).

Anyone else looking forward to any particular movie?

Also JT, I heard a movie about some Ninja Clan was being made, I'll be sure to post info when I know more about it.

I want to see the Captain America movie, but I don't know if it's out yet or if it's just not being shown in the nearby cinemas.

It's out in America, but where you are seems to show things late, or not at all :/

I guess that that is his "brain-broke" expression, since he lives in a 2D world, so has no understanding of the concept of 3D...

No, he just doesn't want to be a cardboard cut-out...unless they actually re-do every frame of the movie (slightly offset), they can't make it true 3D...and they're not going to do that. []
