I saw Avatar (Last Airbender) a few days ago with Steve. I give it a very low B. He gives it a high C. It wasn't really what either of us expected. I would have been fine with the movie if the acting was better, because, frankly, it was terrible. Steve would have been fine if they didn't get so much of the movie wrong and if they didn't leave so much of the show out. I haven't seen all the "books" but I do know that they skipped over a lot of information and rushed through the plot. The first movie was dedicated to "Book one" so I think because they didn't do all the books in one movie, they could have taken their time with this. Once again, Nickelodeon disappoints me and I've given up expecting good movies from them.
Movies that make us cry? I have a few, mainly because
I'm a sap ;
1. UP. Reason: Surprisingly sad and touching death early in the movie
- Spoiler:
(Ellie's death montage)
2. Fox and the Hound. Reason: When the old lady releases Todd into the wild because she can't care for him anymore, and at the end when
- Spoiler:
Copper finally bows to his natural instincts and attempts to murder Todd.
3. Pokemon The First Movie. Reason: When Ash died and Pikachu began to cry. Not putting that in spoilers,
everyone here should have seen that movie by now.
4. Rent. Reason: When
- Spoiler:
Mimi
dies from
- Spoiler:
her drug addiction
and when
- Spoiler:
Angel
dies from
- Spoiler:
his aids
Other movies to make me cry were Oliver and Company, Grave of Fireflies, Schindler's List, The first Land before Time, The Green Mile, Moulin Rouge, Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King, Spirited Away, Giratina and the Sky Warrior, WALL-E, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
Oh yeah, movie that made me cry the hardest? Watchmen.
- Spoiler:
Rorschach's unnecessary death.
I watched it with Taco at the movies, and screamed when it happened. Then at home, I cried for like, a half-hour.
Lucario and the Mystery of Mew is the first animated movie to make me feel literally dead inside. I cried for
hours after that. And to a damn Pokemon movie too! (Unfortunately it's also my favorite one, so I always watch it when it's on the Television..and it's always on the television. And I always cry).
Some of these are really embarrassing but my mom cried watching
James Cameron's Avatar, so I guess I'm alright :l
