So, today was the release of Double Rainboom, the first Hasbro approved, full length, fan made episode of MLP. And you should all go watch it. The animation is, 99% of the time, as good as the official show, the voice acting is pretty close and the story is decent. So, yeah. Go ahead and watch it.

The animation was show quality, that's for certain. the voices were alright, though it seemed like Rainbow's voice actor was giving much less effort to sound like her at some points.
The story....myyggeeeeh.
Overall, if they had made the episode a bit longer, I feel like it could have better addressed these issues, but then again, it was just over a year in making, so I can't say that they didn't put in any effort.
Normally, I would be one of the people who says something along the lines of "Well I won't complain. After all, they put a lot of effort into it and I can't say I could do better," but the creator said his goal was to make something that would rival the show in quality, and while Double Rainboom is pretty good, it doesn't quite do that.
6.5/10. Would watch again if there was nothing better to watch.

- It was okay, and I know one of Rainbow's character traits is her carelessness and lack of forethought, but it still bugged me a bit that the plot was kicked off with her ignoring Twilight's warnings. Also, at the end, when Rainbow sees the destroyed Ponyville, she seems less "shocked and guilt-ridden" and more "Aww shucks, I'm sorry," which is kind of an underreaction to fucking up a whole town. Shouldn't the element of Loyalty have more concern for those she cares about?
The resolution also seemed like it was pulled out of somebody's keister. "We gave the potion to Pinkie and then she broke the fourth wall because Pinkie Pie logic," is not a very creative ending, even for something that involves the fourth wall being shattered.
