TTBM: So there's this girl who we practice Kyukido with. We typically give her rides to the academy whenever we go, with her little sister tagging along to watch.
Well, there's a lot of backstory to this, but basically their mother is a total fucking control freak. She constantly berates them, takes the older daughter's money that she earns herself, occasionally rants about how she wishes she never had the older daughter whenever they argue, and is overall a very unfit mother.
Despite this, the two girls have been able to handle this with surprising calmness, at least when they talk about it with us.
That was until tonight.
When we picked the two of them up, they were both in tears, because their mother had gotten particularly malicious towards them, culminating in her telling them to "get the fuck out."
The two of them are strong strong people, but I'm worried that their strength is getting too weathered, because we've never seen them so upset before.
And all we can do is listen and offer shoulders to cry on, which we have been doing, but is apparently not fucking helping if the situation is getting worse and worse. If we were to try anything more to help, their mother would likely find more ways to strike at them, and could possibly end up taking them out of the academy, which would virtually cut us off entirely from them except for phone communication, but even that has been complicated by the fact that the older daughter's phone was taken away indefinitely following the most recent altercation (After her mother threw it against a wall of course.)
There's barely any fucking thing we can do here. If we call DCFS, then either they fail to get the two of them out of that home and their mother responds by likely cutting htem off from the academy, or DCFS succeeds, but may not place them with their father, instead splitting them off into seperate foster homes.
I'm so fucking scared for them, but I don't know of any way to help. Like I said, just being there to listen and offer empathy seems to not be doing fucking enough, because it's getting worse.
God fucking dammit.
