I'm a little out of the loop. What happened to the old old forum? And then what happened with the new/old forum? What prompted this new/new forum?

ok, well... its hard to explain but here goes.
after Mt marmalade was created, some users were unhappy with the switch. when they said that they liked the old 1 better many were banned. turns out that driscoll wasnt the person we thought he was. he banned: gorgro, jonny, DB, TSW and others. which caused many ppl to leave because they were scared of being banned or they were fed up with that bull crap (rare left for the latter reason).
then because ppl left mt marmalade it was killed off. it now 404's when you go to it.
so gorgro made us all a new forum!
yay!

Driscoll said he would leave the forum open for 2 days, but i made the mistake of posting the link to the new forum under 'Gorgro' so it was removed and i was IP-banned so hard i couldn't even see the threads anymore. Jonny put it back up and a but later the forum was down entirely.

I think i can go without, but it's the thought that counts. (unless some of the females on the forum feel the same way, i which case, i lied.)

It's nice to see that a fair amount of old members have already found their way to this forum. Spread the word, people!

I missed out on all the dramatastic goings on that led to the fall of Mt. Sticky, but wow. What got Driscoll's britches in a twist? Was it really just that people made some negative comments about the new forum??

Craziness. But hey! The new digs look great. Thanks for hooking that up, Gorgro!

I said i didn't like some things about the new forum, Driscoll made a remark, i said he sounded bitter and things escalated from there, to the point where he banned several members. More members left and Driscoll announced that he would keep the forum open for 2 days to let people stay in touch before it was shut down completely because he couldn't afford it anymore. I registered again to announce this emergency backup forum i set up in a few minutes. I made the mistake of posting under my name, which lead me to be super-banned and my post removed. Jonny posted the link again and the forum was gone not long after.

Now you know.

But yeah I don't know what bug crawled up his but but Driscoll acted out of line. I don't know what made him feel like everyone was being confrontational with him. But that was the mindset he was in.

You shouldn't argue with admin on their own forum. Not that you shouldn't disagree with the admin on anything its you should just pick and choose your battles.

Not that I am saying Gorgro or Jonny were arguing (I read through the whole thing) its that Driscoll felt that they were on a personal level and wasn't about to let it go. Not wanting to listen or admit to anything he invoked the power he had at his disposal, and the rest is history. Good news is that its all over and everyone has had a break to breathe and we are all chillin' again!

And giving out the karma to the refuges!
