You see a man on a horse coming down the road. He is going the direction you think you should probably go, but he also looks very stern and law abiding. If you risk hitchhiking, turn to page 9. If you start walking, turn to page 30.

You ask the man if he will take you further into town, as a thief stole all your booze.
He interrupts you saying he has urgent business with the barkeeper but will be leaving soon and is obligated to help even smelly drunks, being a guardsman.
Some minutes after he goes inside you can hear him and the barman through an open window.
"...he's working for that old guy. Looking for the girl."
"Yes well, we should've just taken the old guy's money. Quicker."
"Shocking. And you a guardsman too. It's less of a payoff. Go on and bring him to town, no reason for him to suspect anything of you."
You hear footsteps as the guardsman beings to return to you.
Through the painful groggy mists of your hangover you realise that they have kidnapped the girl.
Do you;
Stay behind to ambush and interrogate the barman? Page 76
or take the ride into town and see if you can follow the guardsman to learn more? Page 23

You decide to follow him; maybe it's a shortcut. But as soon as you step into the woods, a bunch of burly dudes circle you, obviously going to pound you into dust. You look at the guardsman, and he's smiling wickedly as the guys close in on you.

-Take out a radio and play some kick ass rock music to help you in your fight? Page 9
