RT: Does any of you incredibly handsome people on this forum know a way to install Steam on a computer without administrator privileges? For...reasons.

Yes, please come to the clinical research area I'm currently in and break inside to hack the computers that reset every time they are closed and every night

Damnit I just want to create RPGs during the long, boring hours

If you need to get the admin password for your own computer I might be able to help you get that, not so sure about research facility computers though. They'd probably notice that kind of thing...

Well, I need either the admin password or a way to run a program while bypassing the admin password.

Well getting the files with the passwords should be easy, decrypting them takes some more effort depending on the passwords. I used some recovery thing that we needed for class once, but I think you can just do it with linux instead. Download some version of ubuntu, put it on a usb stick or CD and boot to it. Then find the Windows/System32/config directory and get both the 'sam' and 'system' files. Using some tool like SAMInside you can decrypt the passwords stored with these files after fiddling with the settings a bit. The speed depends on the strength of the password (length, numbers, caps,...).

Disclaimer: Likely to be illegal or very much frowned upon unless you're doing this to your own computer

Hm. I found another way, but it would require me to rename some things, which, again, takes the admin password for. Anyone knows a way to change the name of something while bypassing admin?

Renaming stuff where? It might just be the location that's keeping you from doing it, in which case you might be able to copy the things to desktop, rename them and replace them.
