Eh, it doesnt work that way with my friends. They would accept it, but they would never, NEVER, let it go. EVER.

A good deal of my friends, I have converted. The ones that haven't been converted don't make a fuss as they are in the minority.

My dad, I don't think he not make fun of me for it. I think that my mom already knows, but I try and tone it down around her. I have no clue why. My brothers know, and they don't really care.

My dad would just look at me funny, and ask if I were gay. I would rather avoid the whole situation, if I can.

I told one of my friends, but Im pretty sure she forgot. So...... cool.

I'm a huge brony, I've just been very busy as of late, and also I try to rein it in to avoid being aggravating.

I..... Guess you guys could call me a Brony. I probably wont sodomize you to death.

I am okay with this. You may be right Zebra, but remember that we are bronies. None of us are as loving and tolerating as all of us.

I mostly converted my brother, but he's still fighting with his bronyhood. My parents know; mom's indifferent about it, dad makes fun of me cause of the rep that MLP has gotten in the past, but besides that, he couldn't care as long as I don't frorce it on him..

I am a full-on brony and I really don't care who knows about it anymore. It's had quite an impact on my life, and if it wasn't for Rare I probably would have never even known about it. Seriously. I mean, I was a good guy before, but after FiM i've found it easier to love and tolerate everypony. (Except for the giants in Skyrim. Seriously, fuck them.)

I started out largely indifferent and unknowing of how big the show was (Oh hey, 4chan seems to be making image macros of My Little Pony, that's pretty amusing.) I eventually looked it up on Know Your Meme, and watched a little bit of the show before getting interrupted and forgetting about it.
It might have ended there, but then Rare, Esbiate, and AM switched their avatars to ponies, and I decided that I wanted in on this massive fanbase just to stay in the loop, so I watched every episode (At the time.)

So basically, I became a brony because I'm a mindless sheeple.

...My God...I...need to go rethink my life.

@Taiju: I was actually thinking about that the other day. MLP hasnt actually tought me anything, but for younger kids, or even teenagers, its like..... An advanced friendship class. It doesnt teach you how to make friends, it teaches you how to care about, and keep the ones you already have. For this reason, I believe it is a good show.

What's the singular of sheeple? Sheeperson?

Sheeple is its own singular, just like sheep.

Clearly the singular of sheep should be shoop.

I've heard of the concept that cannon Pinkie is bipolor(I know somehow that I misspelled that d*** it). Pinkie is either an exitable maniac or very, very depressed.
Thoughts?

I mean, her "Origin story" says that she came from a place where no one smiled. I think she saw the Rainbow, and just.... snapped. Its really sad, actually. Come to think of it, alot of the ponies are kind of sad. Twilight is just..... Insane. Rarity is a neat freak. I cant think of anything wrong with Applejack. But if Rainbow Dash didnt hang out with the rest of the ponies, I believe she would be a total bitch. Bullying people, stealing, general trouble-making.

Or I could just be putting a whole lot of cynicism into a cut childrens show. Who knows?

The problem, I think, with analysing children's shows is that the characters more often than not aren't all that complex. They exist to communicate a simple story or a simple ideal, and there's nothing wrong with that. But it does mean you may end up chasing a deep, nuanced character that simply doesn't exist.

I mean, look at someone like Rarity: she's a vain, self-centred individual a lot of the time, but she's still a nice person and a good friend. But that's it: by most literary standards she's probably as deep as a puddle. Similarly, Henry the Green Engine is an ocassionally ill steam engine who falls into the typical Sodor pitfalls, like arrogance. These characters don't have that much going on in terms of character and we immerse ourselves in their worlds in a very simplistic fashion.

That said, I think it might be interesting to examine these worlds in more detail: it might be interesting. Returning to something like Thomas the Tank Engine, Thomas came to Sodor, according to the wiki, in 1915. Assuming the TV series is currently set in modern times and assuming Thomas was actually built at some time before then, that would make Thomas about 90 years old. What sort of character would he and the other engines be if we were more aware of this? How would the passing of time affect their personalities, their worldview, their relationships, their mortality? What is the impact of having a machine that can talk, and think, and feel, and live for many years?

But seriously, you make a valid point. And most shows I would say you were right. (Spongebob, Rugrats, Etc.) But the chracters in this show seem to exhibit odd.... Ticks, smoetimes. Like when Pinkie freaked out and- OH MY GODS I FORGOT ABOUT FLUTTERSHY!!!!

Then again, I havent seen any other cartoon in a while, so maybe I would look this deep into all of them now.... Hmm.

I do both personality and biological overanlizing rather frequently. Really helps when dealing with psychotic characters and monsters sometimes.
