Music thread!

I bought a Gnarls Barkley CD a couple of days ago. It was the first time I ventured into the Hip-Hop/R&B Section of Music Store since the days of 'Elefunk' by the Black Eyed Peas C:

I don't particurarly care about genres.

I remember getting Gnarls Barkley. I like how it's hip-hop, but hip-hop about respecting women and transformers.

There's actually a couple different rap songs out there with pretty decent messages.

2pac made a song about his mom, who had to raise him in very harsh conditions.



And Biggie Smalls made "Sky's the Limit," which is pretty self explanatory, and a pretty nice chorus.



And if you've played GTA San Andreas, you've heard this song.

This song is clean.

The Boondocks has some of the greatest satirical rap songs ever.

I have a playlist of about 15 of those that I play on repeat while I'm playing SC2, I like most of them better than the originals. I've been looking for the female version of the Fireflies (Owl City) parody but I can't find it any more (and the male version sounds terrible).

That last song played at my grandmother's and at my grandfather's funeral. My dad couldn't find a rendition he particularly liked, so he just recorded it himself (though he actually sounds more like Bocelli). My grandfather was still alive at my grandmother's funeral where it first played and he actually requested it for his own when the time came. I still think it sounds better than most other versions I've heard since you can really hear the emotion in it.
